Color Blocking – Crop Top

Hello Fashionistas,

We are already done with the first month in the new year. Days are just flying. Hope you all are keeping up with your resolutions and having fun. Let’s get on the blog…

In this blog,  I am talking about a color blocked crop top and skirt. If you are into fashion you might already know about color blocking or just keep reading.  Well, I am not very well versed in fashion jargon but I will share whatever little I know.

Color blocking is when an outfit or garment or accessory is made of multiple solid colors, mainly choosing the colors that are opposite in a color wheel.  Below are few ways you can color block

  • Mix garments with contrast colors (this is the usual way we see day to day) like choosing different colors for layering or separates.  While pairing garments make sure you don’t overdo by choosing more colors.
  • One garment having multiple blocks of color (usually two to three will look good) like a dress or handbag
  • One outfit with the same color but with different hues.

We mostly hear the term color blocking with bold and bright colors, but we can also do color blocking with neutrals like white, black, blue, gray etc.  When I am pairing garments, I choose at least one neutral so it will be a flattering. You can also pair whatever color you want.

In below pictures, you can see yellow crop top paired with a purple long skirt.  Crop tops are in trend for a couple of years.  I used it for a classic look, you can also pair crop tops with wide leg pants or jeans for a modern or trendy look.

I didn’t leave so much gap between crop top and skirt but for a hotter look, you can wear how it is intended to be or follow same if you are little shy about showing skin.  Let’s take a look at the pictures

Dress Details: I got this from MyYukta on Facebook. They have a very nice collection of traditional wear and very reliable too. https://www.facebook.com/MyYuktha/

I also found another FB page StudioAyana also has nice simple crop top and Skirt collection and seem to be cost-effective7.

Accessories:  Antique Gold jumkas and broad bangles from my jewelry collection.

Hope you liked my post.. see you all in next post.
