Hello there,
Summer is here and so is the wedding season in India. Weddings are always fun and most importantly for girls, it’s the time to dress up at our best. Wedding in the immediate family is a perfect time to showcase our heavy sarees and jewelry. Handloom silk sarees such as Kancheepuram, Benarasi, Ikkat, Pochampalli etc are the epitome of ethnic wear. If you are wearing a rich saree you don’t even need jewelry to look elegant. It’s not that only elderly or middle-aged women can wear silk sarees. Nowadays young girls are also preferring Kancheepuram silk sarees for traditional social gatherings.
Indian weddings are usually spread multiple days apart from the big day. Here is my take on choosing Sarees for different events for the same celebration.
- Make sure sarees you select do not overlap on colors, try different colors and color combinations.
- Select different blouse designs and blouse styles like Elbow length, Full hands, Shorthands, contrast colors etc
- Experiment with a different hairdo. (Try experiment few days ahead so that things go well as you planned on the day of event)
- Get creative with jewelry by choosing contemporary styles or choosing contrast stone jewelry
- Flaunt the pallu without pleats and adding a single statement necklace or just heavy earrings, I am sure it will look elegant and make heads turn.
